• BOMONSTER Designs for Speedway Motors

Speedway Motors is one of the oldest speed shops in the U.S. having opened its doors in 1952. In 2017 they are celebrating 65 years and asked me to create some BOMONSTER original t-shirt designs coming soon to a Speedway catalog near you. If you're interested in having your own BOMONSTER designs help brand your company, event or band, check me out here.

  • BOMONSTER Showing Off Again

Prints are now available for this David Mann BOMONSTER scratched tribute piece called "Showing Off." David Mann's original was from 1977 and I was asked by promoters of the annual Chopper Fest art event to create my own interpretation so I added both the girl and the guy standing up on a Harley Panhead chopper at speed feeling the freedom of the open road. You can find it by clicking here.

  • BOMONSTER Brings His Son To Work Day

I was recently invited to a catered car gathering so exclusive you could only attend if you were invited and didn't tell anyone you were invited. High on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean with a guest list including industry giants, entertainment execs, famous race car drivers, TV stars and million dollar cars - and an artist named BOMONSTER. We drove up a one mile perfectly art directed natural landscaped road just to get there. The event was nearly called off because the host threatened to cancel if there were no clouds in the sky. Viewing the home is by appointment only and only if there are patchy clouds in the sky - per the homeowner - because that is when it is the most beautiful. Light clouds were forecast so IT WAS ON! I drove my newest old car - a '92 Porsche Carrera - and brought my son who could use a few more life experiences seeing how the other half lives. It was fun for me to show him a typical day of work for me - meeting people and talking cars - while eating hors d'oeuvres and salad. Every car there had a story and the fun part for me was later sharing them with my son while he drove us along the ocean, through canyons, across the city and over the mountain to get us home. Now we've both got a story. The perfect bring-your-son-to-work day.

  • BOMONSTER scratches Jay Leno's Mercedes

I like Jay Leno. There's a lot of bad habits a guy with Jay's success could get into but he chose cars. He likes a wide range of them and thoroughly gets into their history, the way they're made and most of all he likes to drive them. I scratched a BOMONSTER original of one his recent purchases - a Gullwing Mercedes and he gave me a thumbs up. What a nice guy.

  • BOMONSTER Shoots "Giant" Tom Nye

You won't find much on "Giant" Tom Nye on the Internet. He's lived practically his whole life out of his van airbrushing shirts at live events and murals on sides of buildings. He's the "working man's artist" creating original masterpieces on demand in the elements rain or shine. He painted with Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, Von Franco and Dennis Renero and can tell you about the history of drag racing and every car show promoter you've ever heard of because he was there. He's not one to suffer fools gladly and harasses vendors and customers alike with his salty comebacks and "cut to the chase" remarks. He's a real artist and BOMONSTER and Mrs BOMONSTER love and respect him for it.

  • BOMONSTER Shoots Von Franco

Von Franco is a lowbrow legend. He helped bring Ed "Big Daddy" Roth out of retirement years ago and they traveled and painted monster shirts together for years. His style is unmistakable. He plays music, builds cars, made a movie and still creates original art. He's always encouraged me to keep developing my BOMONSTER art. When I first met him I was with my 80-year-old dad and he and Franco talked commercial art tools for a long time. After that whenever I'd hit a show with my dad he'd ask. "I wonder if Von Franco is here?" Dad has since gone to be with the Lord but I'll always appreciate the day we first met Von Franco.

  • BOMONSTER Introduces New Hat Collection

Being an artist in one medium doesn't always mean your art translates to all mediums. My BOMONSTER scratchboard art is made up of millions of fine scratches and people are always asking me about trucker style hats. So I set about learning how to design for embroidered hats. Basically, the more simplified the design, the better it works on a hat. But I wanted a range of cool designs with detail and that costs extra. But I knew a few people would want one so I made a limited edition run of these cool embroidered hats in both all black and black/white versions. You can find them by clicking here.

  • BOMONSTER Lands On the Moon

Our son's first car was a used Toyota Tacoma we bought him for his 16th birthday. He drove it for a few months and then with his older cousin, proceeded to cut it in half, cut the top off and re-engineer the whole thing to go fast on rough ground, fly in the air and land softly. He drove me around night using daylight GPS on a screen mounted on the dash. It felt like we were exploring the moon at speed. And it inspired this 11x17" limited edition BOMONSTER signed litho print. You can have one land in your mailbox by clicking here.
